Here at Tribepad, we put a lot of trust in our team and believe in supporting each other and treating everyone well. The people behind the scenes also bring a whole lot of personality to daily life, much of which goes into building our recruitment software solutions.
We thought it would be fun to give you a peek behind the curtain by interviewing some of the Tribepad team to learn more about who they are and what they do.
Our first, brave volunteer is Matt Ingram-Smith, a SaaS Solutions Consultant at Tribepad who also happens to be a pretty fine musician. Matt has been part of the team for a few months now, so we figured this might be a good time to check in and see how it’s all going.
Matt – what did you do before joining Tribepad?
Before I joined Tribepad, I spent three years as a recruiter. I was first in Civil Engineering, sourcing candidates for some of the UK’s largest construction schemes, and then in the digital sector in Sheffield. Prior to this, I worked in Employee Benefits in London, looking after a number of blue chip corporate clients.
How’ve your first few months at Tribepad been?
I can honestly say it’s been a great first few months with Tribepad. I knew a fair bit about the company before I joined through exposure as part of Sheffield Digital. And I’ve really enjoyed getting to know everyone and even more importantly, starting to speak to prospective customers about what we do!
What are you currently working on?
Tribepad has traditionally featured really strongly among retail customers and in the B2B outsourcing space, with a growing awareness in other sectors. Some of the features we’ve built recently are great for professional services companies, so I’ve got a particular focus on speaking to financial and legal firms.
What’s been your biggest challenge so far?
The biggest challenge so far has been getting to grips with everything that Tribepad is capable of. There is so much to try and get across in a 90-minute product demonstration! Because the system is so vast, sometimes the challenge for me is knowing what to leave out!
That’s also why I always remind people that one of the key selling points of Tribepad is how easy it is for recruitment teams to customise. It’s incredibly powerful, but it can be tailored to how each client wants it depending on the company’s specific needs.
Do you have a favourite Tribepad feature – large or small?
The thing that I love most – and always gets a wow from customers – is the way the video interviewing platform uses AI to help make predictions about the candidate’s personality and characteristics. The team is always trying to push the envelope by using new technology to create features that make recruiters lives genuinely easier.
Got any interesting side projects you can tell us about?
I’m really enjoying telling our customers and partners about the HR event we’re running in partnership with Randstad in July (2018). From the feedback so far, it seems the opportunity to go to an exclusive drinks reception on a tall ship on the Thames in the sunshine is too exciting to miss out on!
What do you get up to outside of work?
Outside of work, my beautiful wife Sophie and I help lead Ikon Church in Sheffield. I’m also in an acoustic-pop-folk band called Native and The Name and we are busy recording our third album!
